The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been in the news throughout April with all sorts of contract talk at Dortmund, along with rumours of moves abroad.
However, on the field the Japanese has continued to excel, playing a huge part as Dortmund clinched the German Bundesliga title and posted a record points tally for the competition.
Kagawa netted a vital goal in the 2-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach - the match Dortmund could officially celebrate clinching the title - and his attacking threat was in evidence throughout the month.
In Goal.com's readers' poll, across our 10 Asian editions, Kagawa was well clear, with almost 37 per cent of the overall votes.
The Japanese finished ahead of Sepahan's Iranian defender Jalal Hosseini and Al Shabab's Saudi Arabian striker Nasser Al Shamrani.
