    Marcus Hahnemann

Could do little about the opening goal and did extremely well to stop Arsenal from getting a second just minutes later when he saved from Arshavin. Had relatively little else to do but commanded his area well - sweeping up any through balls with ease.

  • Kevin Foley

    Kevin Foley

Did well to support Hunt down the Wolves right, creating plenty of two-on-one situations against an isolated Clichy. Kept Arshavin quiet, with the Russian getting little change from the right-back.

  • Richard Stearman

    Richard Stearman

Gave Chamakh too much space in the opening minute, allowing the Moroccan a free header for the opening goal. Recovered well to keep Arsenal's attack quiet but was prone to too many mistakes. A terrible clearance led to a golden chance for Fabregas who should have doubled the lead.

  • Christophe Berra

    Christophe Berra

Joined the rest of his defence in being all at sea for the opening 10 minutes. Recovered well and kept Chamakh quiet, not allowing the Moroccan any time on the ball.

  • Stephen Ward

    Stephen Ward

Didn't close Song down for the opening Arsenal goal - but was not the only Wolves player to be caught napping 37 seconds in to the match. Had little else to do, with Rosicky rarely troubling him. Was stretchered off after a late tackle from Fabregas with just five minutes remaining.

  • David Edwards

    David Edwards

Replaced after just 10 minutes due to an injury.

  • Michael Mancienne

    Michael Mancienne

Given the daunting task of protecting the Wolves back four, the young Chelsea loanee looked out of his depth. Didn't seem to know which Arsenal midfielder to track and looked uncomfortable in possession. Substituted with 10 minutes remaining as Wolves searched for a winner.

  • Karl Henry

    3.00

    Karl Henry

Struggled to keep up with a fluent Arsenal midfield. Rarely put a tackle in on Fabregas or Wilshere but did keep Wolves ticking over - ensuring they got the ball to their dangermen out wide early.

  • Nenad Milijas

    8
    3.50

    Nenad Milijas

Tested Fabianski with a long-range strike in the first half. Had little of the ball but rarely misplaced a pass. Looked Wolves' most creative player and the most likely to unlock Arsenal's defence.

  • Matthew Jarvis

    Matthew Jarvis

Did not do the same to Sagna as he has to many right-backs this season, the England hopeful struggled to make his mark on the game. When he occasionally did find space to deliver, his quality was evident and it was a shame that there wasn't enough Wolves players attacking the ball. He initially caused Clichy problems when he switched to the right wing but faded towards the end of the game. Not his usual self.

  • Kevin Doyle

Kevin Doyle Flop of the Match

Held the ball up well and caused the Arsenal defence problems with his high energy levels. But the striker's inability to put the ball in the back of the net was highlighted once again. Hasn't got a goal to his name this season and had no clear opportunities to improve that record. Was unlucky to see his strike from the edge of the area tipped wide when it appeared to be heading for the top corner but summed his season up so far when he missed a glorious chance - firing wide from inside the area with only Fabianski to beat.

Replaced the injured Ward late on as Wolves desperately searched for an equaliser.

  • Stephen Hunt

    Stephen Hunt

Came on for the injured Edwards with just 10 minutes played. Often found himself with time to cross but his delivery wasn't always of the right quality - with many of his crosses being overhit. Struggled to cause Sagna any problems when he switched to his natural left flank.

  • Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

    Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

Given 10 minutes to try and find a goal, the pacey striker struggled to get in to the game. Ran the channels well but was feeding on scraps as Wolves searched in vain for an equaliser.

  • Lukasz Fabianski

Lukasz Fabianski Top of the Match

Held a comfortable long range shot from Milijas in a game where he was rarely tested. Looked confident in commanding his area and claimed several awkward crosses with ease. Made a fantastic fingertip save from Doyle when the ball appeared to be heading for the top corner. Made another great save in injury time when a Berra shot looked certain to be finding the bottom corner.

  • Bacary Sagna

    3.50

    Bacary Sagna

Dealt with the on-form Jarvis well, with the winger only beating him once before being forced to switch wings. Rarely got forward due to Arsenal being on the back foot for the majority of the game.

  • Sébastien Squillaci
    67

    3.50

    Sébastien Squillaci

Acted almost as a sweeper in the Arsenal back four. Picked off any balls that Wolves threaded through the channels with ease and looked composed.

  • Johan Djourou

    15
    3.00

    Johan Djourou

Struggled to deal with Doyle's strength and intelligent running. Got better as the game wore on and prevented Wolves from getting near Fabianski's goal.

  • Gael Clichy

    3.50

    Gael Clichy

Was left isolated by Arshavin but did well to keep Hunt quiet in the first half. Was troubled more when Jarvis switched over to the right in the second half.

  • Alexandre Song
    85
    6
    3.00

    Alexandre Song

Produced a sensational cross to gift Chamakh the opening goal early in the game. Had to work hard in the second half but protected his back four well.

  • Jack Wilshere
    91
    5
    3.50

    Jack Wilshere

The young midfielder saw little of the ball due to Wolves' domination but looked comfortable throughout the game. Appears to be a natural with the ball at his feet and seemed to know where he was going to pass the ball before he had it. Replaced by Denilson with 22 minutes remaining to give Arsenal some much needed fresh legs.

  • Tomas Rosicky
    68
    7
    3.00

    Tomas Rosicky

Flitted in and out of the game. Danced past two Wolves players to give Song the space to cross for the goal and looked good on the ball - but drifted out of the game for large spells.

  • Cesc Fàbregas
    68
    37
    3.00

    Cesc Fàbregas

Given too much space by the Wolves midfielders but the Spaniard struggled to find the killer final ball. Did a lot of good defensive work as Wolves searched for the equaliser but will be disappointed with his play going forward. Lacked his usual sharpness.

  • Andrey Arshavin
    45
    62
    3.00

    Andrey Arshavin

Missed a glorious chance to double Arsenal's lead early on when he missed a one-on-one with Hahnemann. Like Rosicky, Arshavin was out of the game for long spells. Although he looked comfortable on the ball, the Russian was often lazy to defend - leaving Clichy to deal with Jarvis and Foley. Was unlucky to hit the post in the second half when Hahnemann was well beaten. Substituted with seconds remaining.

  • Marouane Chamakh
    115
    7
    3.50

    Marouane Chamakh

Did well to find space between the Wolves defence for the opening goal - another trademark header from the Moroccan. But he faded as the game wore on and Arsenal struggled to get out of their own half. Failing to hold the ball up against the Wolves centre-halves, he cut a frustrated lone figure up front. Despite doing nothing since scoring, it was the Moroccan who sealed the points with a second goal in injury time after being sent clear by Fabregas. Replaced with seconds remaining.

Substitutions

  • Denilson

    Denilson

Replaced Wilshere with 22 minutes left. Injected fresh legs in to the Arsenal midfield - pressuring Henry and Milijas well. Picked up an unnecessary yellow card for not allowing Wolves to take an early free-kick.

  • Nicklas Bendtner
