Wolves - Arsenal Preview: Robin van Persie unlikely to start as Gunners look to bounce back from Newcastle United defeat
By Alex Fisher
TEAM NEWS
Wolves
Striker Sylvain Ebanks-Blake will be full of confidence following his goal after coming on as a substitute against Manchester United and will be hoping he can take advantage of any mistakes the Arsenal defenders may make to add to his three goals this season.
Wolves will be without Michael Kightly, Jody Craddock, Ronald Zubar and Adlene Guediora through injury.
Possible starting XI: Hahnemann; Foley, Stearman, Berra, Ward; Jarvis, Edwards, Henry, Milijas, Hunt; Doyle.
Arsenal
The return of Cesc Fabregas against Newcastle was a huge boost, as was the introduction of Robin van Persie, and the Dutchman could return to the starting line-up following his ankle injury.
However, Arsene Wenger is unlikely to want to risk the Dutchman so soon in his rehabilitation and would much rather ease him back into first team action.
Samir Nasri will be a doubt for Wenger’s men after he sustained a calf problem against Newcastle, whilst Abou Diaby, Kieran Gibbs, Thomas Vermaelen and Aaron Ramsey are all ruled out of contention through injury.
Possible starting XI: Fabianski; Sagna, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy; Fabregas, Song, Wilshere; Walcott, Chamakh, Arshavin.
Arsenal out to get back to winning ways
Amazingly, Arsenal come into this game having lost their last two matches, against Shakhtar and Newcastle, and that shaky form has seen more criticism aimed at goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and the defenders in front of him.
The Gunners have only lost one game away from home this season, at Chelsea, and they gave an impressive performance in their last away game in the Premier League, as they beat Manchester City 3-0.
Happy hunting ground for Gunners
History shows that this game will be a no contest as Wolves haven’t beaten the Gunners since 1979 and in their last four Premier league meetings Arsenal have come out victorious, scoring 11 goals and only conceding two.
The record will inspire Arsenal but will also give the Wolves players some motivation as they will want to put an end to the run as soon as possible.

The left winger has been in sensational form this season and he has already caught the eye of England manager Fabio Capello with a potential international call-up on the horizon. His pace and trickery on the left wing is bound to cause concern for Arsene Wenger.
| Theo Walcott | |

After returning from the ankle injury he sustained playing for England in September, Walcott has been in flying form and has been showing an excellent eye for goal with three goals in his last four matches. Confidence appears to high for the young winger and he will be someone Wolves will be very wary of.
