Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti: Manchester United's Wayne Rooney is the best player in the world

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is the "best in the world" at the moment.
The former Everton forward added to his impressive tally of goals to open the scoring against Portsmouth on Saturday, in what was eventually a resounding 5-0 victory over the relegation strugglers.
The victory took Sir Alex Ferguson's charges above their London counterparts to claim the top spot, albeit on a provisional basis - Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Despite being displaced at the top, Ancelotti has lavished praise on the Red Devils' in-form striker for his stellar performances this season.
"United are using Rooney very well in this moment," Ancelotti, according to The Mirror.
"Every game he proves his quality. He’s a fantastic, fantastic player.
"I am surprised because he never drops, he always improves his performance.
"It’s a good thing not only for Manchester United, but also for the national team because to have Rooney in this condition is very important for England at the World Cup.
"Is he the best in the world at the moment? I think yes. At the moment he’s the most decisive player in the world."
Rooney recently scooped up the Premier League's Player of the Month award for January.
