A late Joe Mattock strike secured a replay for West Bromwich Albion after Reading had twice taken the lead at the Madjeski.

"I thought we'd won it. But fair play to them, they are a quality side and it was a superb goal at the end to get the equaliser,” said Reading boss Brian McDermott.

“I think West Brom will definitely be in the Premier League next season and they showed their quality."

Jimmy Kebe opened the scoring inside the first ten seconds before Robert Koren equalised 20 minutes later.

Both sides were reduced to ten men inside the first fifteen minutes of the second half, as Shane Long was given a straight red for his lunge on Abdoulaye Meite and Youssuf Mulumbu picked up two yellow cards after only coming on as a half time substitute.

Simon Church restored Reading’s lead before Mattock struck three minutes from time to earn a replay on Wednesday 24th February.
