Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill hopes his side can advance in the FA Cup to erase the heartache of losing to Manchester United in the League Cup final.
Villa take on Reading on Sunday evening after a tense week where O'Neil lambasted referee Phil Dowd for failing to send of Nemanja Vidic in last weekend's cup final.
The Villa boss hopes to put the controversy to rest by advancing in the FA Cup.
"I think that because we lost the game, I don't think the decision is any easier to take on the Friday than it was on the Sunday," O'Neil told Aston Villa's official website.

"I think that because we lost the game, I don't think the decision is any easier to take on the Friday than it was on the Sunday," O'Neil told Aston Villa's official website.
"As I said on Sunday, if the referee had have chosen to send him off, nobody would have complained.
"He set himself up more by making the decision, it was really strange.
"I think that the players who were away on international duty will have had at least a different set of companions to speak to, to talk about things.
"So from that viewpoint I think that maybe getting away will be helpful for them.
"I think that if anything, if Sunday's experience was anything to go by, the players would like to go back there [Wembley]."
O'Neil maintains that the clash with Reading is more than a normal game.
"I won't treat it is as a normal game. It is not a normal game - it is an FA Cup quarter-final."As you can see from the reaction to the equaliser against Crystal Palace down there [at Selhurst Park], it is one that we want to be involved in.
"If you could tell me come Sunday evening that we could be in the hat, whether we draw the game or not, I'd take it."
