After just over four years in charge of the England national side, Fabio Capello resigned from the post on Wednesday evening.

The move comes following a crunch meeting between himself and FA officials regarding the 65-year-old's comments on an Italian television station where he announced his displeasure at the removal of John Terry as captain.

So who is your top choice? Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has long been mooted as the next in line, but there are many other options to choose from.

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson, who has enjoyed spells in charge of the likes of Inter and Liverpool in the past, is another candidate with over 40 years of footballing experience.

How about the Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho? News broke last week that the Portuguese is looking to leave the Spanish giants at the end of the season - could he be tempted into the international fold?
