Gago close to Real Madrid exit as agent holds meeting with Valencia president
The Argentine international's representative is at Mestalla to hammer out a deal with Los Che and a decision on his future could be made by the end of Thursday
EXCLUSIVEBy Nicolas De Marco
Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago is edging closer to a move to Valencia as his agent is currently in talks with Valencia president Manuel Llorente, Goal.com has learned.
The player's representative Marcelo Lombilla spoke to Goal.com minutes prior to his meeting with Los Che's supremo, to confirm that he is in discussions to thrash out Gago's contract and an agreement could be reached by the end of Thursday.
The Argentina international is currently deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernebeu and spent last term on loan at Italian side Roma, where he made 31 appearances in all competitions.
Gago, 26, has expressed his desire to stay in La Liga and now looks set to play his football under Mauricio Pellegrino at the Mestalla next season.
