The 34-year-old's contract expires in June, and he has yet to reach an agreement with the club regarding an extension.
Gattuso revealed on Monday that he could retire from football if he was not guaranteed an active role in the squad next season, but his representative has stated that the former Italy international is eager to commit his future to the Rossoneri.
"Gattuso will continue to be a father, but he will not stop playing," Andrea D´Amico told Radio Sportiva. "He has completely recovered from his eye problem and he is still a great player.
"We will still see him play for a long time. He has a great desire to put a bad year behind him and he still wants to take satisfaction from the game.
"We have not yet sat down with Milan, but we will do so at the right time: they are still his priority."
Gattuso, who joined Milan from Salernitana in 1999, has made only six competitive appearances in 2011-12 after being diagnosed with a serious eye problem in October.
