AC Milan open Damiao talks, says agent
The Brazil striker's representative says that he has held a meeting with the Rossoneri but underlined that the Italian club have not yet lodged any bid
AC Milan have engaged in exploratory talks with a view to signing Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, one of his representatives has claimed. The 22-year-old striker has been touted as a candidate to bolster the Rossoneri attack in the summer after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain.
Stefano Castagna, who represents Damiao in Italy, claims that he has held a meeting with Milan regarding his client, but stressed that the Serie A giants have not yet launched any official bid for the player.
"It was just an exploratory meeting, a quick chat," Castagna told Ilsussidiario.net. "There is no move for Damiao right now, even though Milan like the player.
"We will see in the future if they will want to have further talks. We did not talk about figures - it was not a negotiation.
"I do not know when and if Milan will launch a move for Damiao."
Damiao, who has nine international caps for Brazil, has also been linked with Inter, Tottenham and Juventus in recent times.
He admitted in May that he is happy with life at Internacional, but did not rule out a transfer to Europe in the future.
