The Blues have secured the signature of the Denmark U-17 centre-half ahead of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City and German giants Bayern Munich
Chelsea have completed a deal to sign 15-year-old defender Andreas Christensen from Brondby on a free transfer. The Blues have reportedly beaten off competition from Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich to convince the talented youngster to join them in the summer.
Despite his young age the centre-back stands at a towering six feet in height and has already been capped by Denmark at Under-17 level.
"I have chosen Chelsea because they play the kind of football I like,” Christensen told Ekstra Bladet. "At the same time, they have the best plan for my future in football."
Under-pressure Blues boss Ande Villas-Boas has also received a boost with the return to full training of John Ob Mikel following a seven-week spell on the sidelines.
The Nigerian midfielder could make his comeback this weekend when his team travel to face Everton.
