Kilbane, who clocked up 110 caps for the boys in green, will be following his former international colleagues for BBC Radio 5 Live along with Conor McNamara. The duo will be keeping listeners of the popular radio station informed from their Polish base in Gdansk.
This will be the second major tournament that Kilbane has been a pundit for after working for Irish broadcaster RTE during the last World Cup. Kilbane, 35, has a degree in professional sports writing and broadcasting and has been covering games for the BBC this season as he ponders a media career when he retires.
Kilbane featured in six of Ireland's Euro 2012 qualifiers but hasn't played for his country since the June 2011 match against FYROM. He was ruled out of Giovanni Trapattoni's plans after he underwent a back operation earlier this year and is understood to be contemplating retirement.
