'What happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch' - Liverpool's Luis Suarez claims Manchester United's Patrice Evra broke 'football law'

Luis Suarez has claimed that Manchester United’s Patrice Evra broke "football law" by reporting the pair’s conversation during a game, which led to the Liverpool striker’s ban for racist abuse, stating that "what happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch".

The 25-year-old recently returned from an eight-match ban after being charged with racial aggravation towards the French left-back and the duo are set to come face-to-face with each other during Saturday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish has also spoken out on his belief that the Uruguayan "should never" have been banned.

"I knew what I did and there is a kind of football law that says 'what happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch and that's the end of the story',” Suarez told his native country’s Radio Sport 890.

The Reds striker also revealed that he is expecting the home fans to persevere to make this weekend’s game as difficult an experience as possible for him and his teammates, but remains confident that he can use it as fuel to better his performance.

"I know against Man United it is going to be tense because I'm going to face Evra,” the striker added. “But I'm used to having fans whistle at me. I hope nothing unusual happens. I'll have to forget what happened for that moment.”

"I do know Man United fans are going to try to make me feel uncomfortable. But I have to tell them — they are going to spur me on if they whistle at me."
