Raul's agent dismisses Qatar report
The striker is out of contract at the end of the season and though his current employers are said to be desperate to keep him, he has been tipped to move to the Middle East
The agent of Raul has dismissed a report that the Schalke forward has already agreed to move to Qatar at the end of the 2011-12 campaign. The former Spain international is out of contract in the summer and it was claimed earlier this week that the 34-year-old had accepted a lucrative offer to move to the Middle East.
However, the player's representative, Gines Carvajal, insists otherwise, revealing that the legendary striker is still mulling things over.
"Raul’s future is not decided yet,” the agent told Sport1. “He needs more time because this decision is very important for his career."
The former Real Madrid man has been a revelation since arriving in Gelsenkirchen from the Spanish capital in 2010.
However, Raul is keen to extend his stay with Schalke for a further two seasons, while the club are only willing to offer him a one-year deal.
