Quevilly president Michel Mallet has spoken of his joy after watching his team sensationally reach the Coupe de France final.The third-tier side set up a date with Olympique Lyonnais at the Stade de France after defeating Stade Rennais 2-1 on Wednesday, coming from behind to claim victory against Frederic Antonetti's men.
Mallet was almost lost for words when talking about his side's achievement, and urged the Quevilly squad to cherish this moment.
"It was a crazy match, just as it was against Marseille [in the quarter-finals]. This is beyond all superlatives, something that cannot be tarnished, and that we should live out and share with those closest to us," he said according to FranceFootball.
"At times, we were close to cracking, but there was an incredible force driving the players to believe in themselves. I never believed in my wildest dreams that we'd be in the Stade de France."
Quevilly take on Lyon, who beat Gazelec Ajaccio to reach the final, on April 26 at the French national stadium.
