Newly-acquired Sebastien Le Toux endeared himself to New York fans with a first-half equalizer in his first appearance in a Red Bulls shirt, but Fredy Montero's second-period leveller left the Red Bulls with little to celebrate

Alvaro Fernandez opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour, when poor marking allowed him to get open in the penalty area and connect with an Adam Johansson cross for his second goal of the year.

New York then fired back with two goals either side of haltime. Sebastien Le Toux pounced on a spilled save after a Kenny Cooper shot to record a goal on his debut, and the Red Bulls took the lead through Joel Lindpere, the Estonia international outfoxing Bill Gaudette to find the low near corner from outside the box.

Fredy Montero came on as a second-half substitute to salvage the draw for Seattle, side-footing a low Brad Evans cross past Ryan Meara.

The draw leaves the Red Bulls winless in three, and Chicago could leapfrog them into third place in the East if the Fire win their meeting on Wednesday.
