thumbnail Hello,

The U.S. international forward scored a brace as AZ held onto second place in the Eredivisie.

U.S. international forward Jozy Altidore continued his strong campaign with a pair of goals in AZ's 2-2 draw against FC Twente.

His first goal came in the third minute off a corner kick. Altidore might have gotten away with a bit of a push on his defender, but the referee saw nothing wrong with it and his header was well-directed into the corner of the goal.

Luuk de Jong equalized for Twente in the 31st minute, but Altidore wasn't done on the night.

The big striker grabbed his second of the match in the 70th minute after a nice give and go with Adam Maher at the top of the box. The American took his first touch away from his defender and finished low and to the near post with his second.

The goals were Altidore's 12th and 13th league goals and 16th and 17th overall on the season. He is AZ's leading goalscorer on the 2011-12 campaign.

Unfortunately for the home side, Emir Bajrami found a late equalizer with a 90th minute header.

With the draw, AZ went level on points with Ajax at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie. Ajax, however, then defeated Heerenveen 5-0 to go three points clear.
