Clint Dempsey was left off the PFA awards list, but finished fourth as the English football writers voted for their EPL player of the year.
Questions were asked when the Professional Footballers' Association awards list came out and Clint Dempsey wasn't on it, But the Football Writers' Association did the American justice on Tuesday.
The Fulham star finished fourth in voting behind Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes for the FWA's Player of the Year award in the EPL.
How Scholes is as high as three on the list is slightly baffling, but fourth seems like a fair place for Dempsey, what with Sergio Aguero not in the group at all. Dempsey gaining that type of recognition is impressive and will only boost the massive amounts of rumors that are sure to come up about him as the transfer window draws near.
It's nice to see Dempsey finally get some recognition of this caliber for his performances in England after being one of the most consistent goal threats among midfielders in the EPL for several years.
He'll stay top of this list, as you would imagine.
