Andy Carroll celebrates a year with the Reds with a fine performance, capped with a goal, as a classy display from Kenny Dalglish's side heaps more pressure on the hosts
By Jake Watson at Molineux
The over-worked Welsh keeper pulled off a string of saves though was completely helpless with the three he picked out of his net.
Attempted a couple of back passes that had the Wolves fans' nerves tested to the limit, though was solid defensively.
Has started to look his best following a tough start to the season, though today was a poor showing by all the Wolves backline.
Wolves' best player in the first half as he made countless tackles and headers though his distribution was limited as he went long far too often.
Was given the run around by Craig Bellamy as he struggled to cope with his pace and energy.
Plenty of running though was not positive enough in possession as he often went back or sideways to the home fans' frustrations.
Back in the starting line-up for Wolves and has been like a new signing. Nearly scored in the first half but his first-touch was often wayward.
Was the anchor of the five-man Wolves midfield and rarely gave away possession but felt he could have offered more as it appeared he was reserving energy.
The most consistent support for Fletcher upfront but had very little of the ball. Looked dangerous but rarely had a chance to deliver his trademark crosses.
The new signing is predominately a defender and looked uncomfortable in midfield, offering very little while in possession.
Wolves go-to man showed constant quality as he played on his own upfront. although he was completely isolated.
Was brought on to bring some energy to the Wolves attack but it was all too little too late.
Came on late in the second half to little or no effect.
Came on to offer Fletcher support but it was an evening when Wolves created next to nothing.
Not forced into a save of note as kept probably the easiest clean sheet of his career - little else to say on the Liverpool keeper.
Probably the most attacking full-back in the Premier League and was awarded all the room he wanted as he constantly overlapped Kuyt to provide his side an attacking option.
A real familiarity with Bellamy on the left-hand side although this was not one of his best performances.
Nearly scored in the first half and was rarely tested defensively with Steven Fletcher the lone man upfront for the majority.
An interesting contest with Fletcher as they grappled throughout for the long balls and few get the better of the Slovakian defender.
Tidy in possession as he linked the play with the midfield to the forward men. Always had time on the ball and will be happy with his performance.
The anchor in the Liverpool midfield as Gerrard was rested and put in a real shift allowing Adam and Henderson to push forward. A more than adequate replacement for the injured Lucas.
An assist for the second goal and was the best crosser of the ball as he looked to find Carroll. The Scot has not been at his best in recent weeks but oozed class tonight.
Celebrated a year at the club with arguably his best performance. He won countless headers and gave away possession very rarely as he chested the ball and played it to a midfielder. His goal capped off a fine evening for the much-criticised target-man.
The Dutchman was on a barren run in front of goal in the league and will be delighted to see it end. You can never fault his workrate but he does not look effective in the winger position
Bellamy is enjoying a fine season and was in top form tonight as he gave Foley a nightmare with his pace and directness. His goal was well taken, though the Wolves team can take an assist as they allowed him to stroll in on goal.
Came on for the final few moments.
Came on for Agger to see out the win.
Afforded a run-out for the last 10 minutes with the points safe.
