Gokhan Tore continues to be sidelined for HSV following a meniscus tear, meaning that Jacopo Sala will feature on the right wing. Lam Zhi Gin (calf), Per Skjelbred (shin) and Marcus Berg (fitness) are also ruled out, leaving Thorsten Fink rather short of depth.
The trainer will have at least one tactical headache to overcome in the lead-up to the game, as he faces the decision to use either Slobodan Rajkovic or Jeffrey Bruma in defence alongside Heiko Westermann.
With Rafinha suspended and Daniel van Buyten and Diego Contento injured, Jupp Heynckes will have very few options in defence.
The coach is expected to keep Jerome Boateng in the centre, with Anatoliy Tymoshchuk filling in for Rafinha on the right. Alternatively, Heynckes could use either Breno or Luiz Gustavo in central defence, with Boateng at right-back.

The Peruvian striker has been in superb formas of late, and will have extra impetus as he takes on his former club, Bayern. Injuries have set him back significantly in recent years, but his class is undeniable when he brings his will and focus.

The Frenchman famously scored a stunning late goal against HSV, and will undoubtedly be a marked man on Saturday. He has easily been his team's most dangerous creator this season, and will be needed against a side that has been very tricky to beat since Fink's arrival.
Hamburg have proven extremely difficult for Bayern to crack, especially at home, and if history is an indicator, that will not change this time around. Either team could win it, but this one will likely be in a deadlock late in the game.
