A somewhat compromised Bayern Munich side welcome Kaiserslautern to the Allianz Arena without the on-field presence of two regular first-teamers in Bastian Schweinsteiger and Daniel Van Buyten. The influential midfielder incurred ankle ligament damage in Wednesday's DFB-Pokal win over Stuttgart, while the Belgian centre-back is still recovering from a metatarsal fracture.

Diego Contento will also be absent as he works to find fitness after being out with a broken toe.

For Marco Kurz's visitors, Germany's Red Devils are missing Ariel Borysiuk, who is suspended through a double-booking in Kaiserslautern's previous match, while veteran left-back Alexander Bugera must also watch from the sidelines with a problematic foot injury.

Cameroonian forward Dorge Kouemaha is also set to miss the clash due to a lack of match fitness.

DID YOU KNOW
  • This weekend's match-up features the Bundesliga's highest and lowest scoring teams this season: Bayern Munich with 47 and Kaiserslautern with only 15.
  • If the visitors manage to score at the Allianz on Saturday, it will be their 100th goal against the hosts.
  • Mario Gomez has scored two hat-tricks in each of Bayern Munich's last two matches against Kaiserslautern.
  • Itay Shechter has the lowest goal tally of any Bundesliga team's top scorer this term with a meagre three.
  • Bayern have won all seven of their last home matches against Kaiserslautern. Their last loss
against Saturday's visitors was in 1997.
  • The very same match was the last time FCB failed to score at home against the Red Devils.

With two hattricks scored already against FCK, the Bundesliga's top scorer should be brimming with the confidence necessary to break down the visitors' defence.

If Kaiserslautern want to retain their dignity at the Allianz, the young goalkeeper will have to keep his wits about him and command his defence well in Saturday's match-up.
Prediction
Bayern shouldn't struggle too badly to cope with the absence of Schweinsteiger and Van Buyten, and the hosts have been in incredible home form of late in the Bundesliga.

However, Kaiserslautern have a solid back line this term, so FCB may have to bide their time and take their chances when they come.
