"It gave me great satisfaction. I wanted to do well even though I may be leaving. In fact, I don't know if I will leave tonight," he told Sky immediately after the match.
"We had a good game and the important thing was to win."
The 20-year-old has credited coach Claudio Ranieri with getting the team back on track since his appointment early in the season.
"We believe in ourselves. We have so many quality players and we can play good football," he explained.
"But he gave us the determination required to fight in every minute. The greatest victories we have achieved in the last minute after sweating and in dangerous situations."
At Fulham, the striker is looking forward to working with former Inter and Grasshoppers tactician Roy Hodgson.
"Yes I know him. I'll go there to do well and learn so much from him as he has so much experience," he concluded.
Roma are now joint second place with AC Milan in Serie A with 41 points, although the Rossoneri have a game in hand.
