Player Ratings: Milan 1-1 Livorno
The Rossoneri were held to a disappointing draw at home by Livorno and Goal.com was on hand to rate the performance of the players......
By Subhankar Mondal
Abbiati - 6: Wasn't really tested today as Livorno didn't threaten much except on certain occasions but was still reliable when he was called upon to save Milan's skin.
Abate - 6.5: Looked promising defensively and also chipped in with his forward runs and crosses.
Thiago Silva- 7: Had a huge presence in central defence and was efficient and professional in stopping the opposition's attack. He could also have scored with a long range effort in the first half.
Favalli - 6.5: He is no Alessandro Nesta and actually at his age shouldn't be playing, but he was quite solid at the back and made a few timely challenges and interventions. However, it was Favalli's poor clearance that led to Livorno's equaliser.
Antonini - 7: Had a good match at left-back where he seemed confident defensively and also put in a couple of good crosses but Milan's attacking players couldn't quite use them effectively.
Flamini - 7: Had a good game in the midfield, made some good challenges and also chipped in on the attack. However, he grew somewhat pale in the second half and also looked short of ideas.
Ambrosini - 7.5: Battled throughout the match in the midfield, won challenges, was a huge presence for Milan, scored a neat first goal and could have added a second. Ambrosini is not finished.
Seedorf - 6.5: The Dutchman got a good chance off a Beckham cross early in the first half but couldn't capitalise on it. He did look creative for most of the game but playing in a creative midfielder's position, he lacked the pool of imagination today.
Beckham - 7.5: Had a brilliant game and once again demonstrated why he still remains arguably the best crosser of the ball in the world. Some of his crosses seemed created by God and expressed through him. Beckham chipped in with some good passes and combined well with Ronaldinho.
Borriello - 5.5: Had an under-par game today but also got injured in the first half for which he was taken off at half time.
Ronaldinho - 7.5: This wasn't a very particularly impressive performance from the Brazilian legend but Ronaldinho did look very creative at times. He combined well with his fellow attacking players and went close with a freekick. The former Barcelona playmaker also hit the post in the first half.
Substitutes:
Huntelaar - 5: Came on in the second half and should have scored at least thrice. Was the target of two or three brilliant crosses but the Dutchman failed to keep most of his shots on target.
Inzaghi - N/A
LIVORNO:
Benussi - 8: Was arguably the best player on the pitch as the Livorno custodian made a series of world class saves in the second half, two of which included a save from an Ambrosini header and clearing the ball from virtually Huntelaar's feet.
Rivas - 6: Had an average game and gave away an unnecessary freekick on the edge of his penalty area. Looked weak on certain occasions against the Milan barrage of attacks.
Knezevic - 5.5: Like the rest of the Livorno defenders, had a tough day in office as he was never allowed to rest by the Milan players. He didn't look particularly confident either.
Perticone - 6.5: Looked awkward in the first 45 minutes but came to the fore in the second half when he made several challenges and tackles to stop the Milan players from scoring their second goal.
Bergvold - 5: Had a bad day in office as he was dominated in the midfield and looked anonymous at times.
Filippini - 5: Did no better than Bergvold.
Raimondi - 5.5: Had a more or less anonymous first half but did go on the attack more frequently in the second session to help his teammates.
Pulzetti - 6: Started the game with promise and flourish but faded away as the game developed.
Pieri - 6: Had an average game but could have done better early on when he was sent through by Bellucci in the first half.
Bellucci - 7: Was inconsistent in the game but was one of the two most impressive outfield players for Livorno against Milan. It was his shot that eventually led to his side's goal and he sent Pieri through on one occasion too.
Lucarelli - 7.5: He was the main dangerman for Milan and scored a very intelligent goal too. Lucarelli didn't get much service from the midfield but along with his strike-partner Bellucci showed some good creativity and imagination upfront on a number of occasions.
Substitutes:
Moro - 5: Came on for Bergvold on the hour-mark but couldn't add much to the game
Marchini - N/A
Tavano - N/A
