After his Milan outfit were forced to settle for a draw against a struggling Livorno side this afternoon, coach Leonardo commented on what has been a less than satisfying seven days for the Rossoneri.

“It hasn’t been a simple week,” he declared to SkySport shortly after the game.

“In seven days we haven’t achieved much given the way the results have gone.

“This afternoon I think we were missing a little piece of cynicism and although we didn’t play a bad game, we lacked that swagger that we have shown in recent weeks.

“The game against Inter could have changed the course of the season but unfortunately it didn’t go that way.

“Although this afternoon we didn’t manage to secure the victory with this result, we are still in second place in the standings and have closed the gap to eight points.

“It is proving to be an extremely tight championship and what is important is that the dips don’t prove fundamental in our quest to secure certain objectives.”
