Siena Coach Alberto Malesani On The Brink - Report
The Tuscans are set to re-install Marco Giampaolo on the Franchi bench…
By Vince Masiello
Serie A basement side Siena have decided to part company with boss Alberto Malesani and will re-hire Marco Giampaolo today, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.
The Robur are propping up the league standings with a meagre 13 points to their name and new club president Massimo Mezzaroma announced his decision to the board of directors during a meeting yesterday.
Malesani has picked up only seven points since taking over from Giampaolo back in November and Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat to Sampdoria was the final straw.
Mezzaroma took charge of the club in December and seems keen to turn back to Giampaolo, who was sacked by the former owners.
Malesani’s dismissal would take the tally of coaching changes for the Serie A season to a record 13.
