Lazio Fans Clash With Police Outside Formello In Protest Against Club - Report
Sky Sport Italia reports up to 1000 fans have clashed with police who charged at them...
By Salvatore Landolina
Up to 1000 fans gathered outside the ground to show their disapproval in relation to the club's drop into the relegation zone amid reports Davide Ballardini has been sacked.
Angry chants against the club echoed around Formello before the police arrived. Protestors then set off home-made paper explosives and flares against the police who, in response, charged at them, launching tear gas in an attempt to break up the crowd.
Some Lazio players who arrived for training this afternoon were momentarily blocked by the protestors from entering, but they were soon allowed to proceed amid angry scenes.
The squad are currently locked inside the changing rooms as fears for their safety rise. They will be allowed to train if calm is restored around the area.
