Following heavy speculation linking Edy Reja with Lazio, the Italian tactician has officially left Croatian side Hajduk Split and is on his way to Rome where he will reportedly be appointed the new coach of the Biancocelesti.

A statement on the official Hajduk website read,

“Edoardo Reja is no longer the coach of Hajduk.

“The Italian coach has had the last afternoon training with players from Split, about 19:15 and returned to Poljud 10 minutes later, climbed to the second floor of the stadium for talks with the leaders of the club and agreed to breach of contract.

"Immediately upon leaving the stadium Reja went to Rome where he will tomorrow continue his coaching job in Lazio."

Reja himself admitted, “It was a difficult decision, I'm leaving with a heavy heart. I gave my word to Lazio president Claudio Lotito."

An official statement from Lazio confirming his appointment is expected imminently.
