Barcelona's move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic was literally sky high as it was born five miles above ground while president Joan Laporta was flying back to Spain from a different transfer deal in Donetsk.

Laporta has revealed the secrets behind the Ibra move last summer and it was racy given the speed at which it was carried out.

"I was coming back to Barcelona from Ukraine with a colleague after we had been negotiating for Dymtro Chygrynskiy when we thought about [Pep] Guardiola's request for a striker to replace Eto'o," he told Sky Sport Italia programme 'I Signori Del Calcio'.

"The choice was between Ibra, David Villa and Diego Forlan. At the time we were flying over Milan [on the way back from the Ukraine] when I told the pilot to divert and land, I can't remember if it was Malpensa or Linate airport, but the deal was born on that night.

"I called Massimo Moratti from the airplane and he invited me to his house straight away so we could deal as our relationship is excellent."

The Sweden striker left Inter for a reported €45 million plus the permanent transfer of Samuel Eto'o to the Italian side.
