Luca Antonini has urged Milan to keep the momentum going in their quest to wrest the Serie A title away from city rivals Inter.

Despite ups and downs throughout the season, the Diavolo have managed to re-open the Scudetto race in recent weeks, and the defender told Mediaset: “Our league run has been excellent so far, considering our start and the fact that everyone kept saying we would not even have finished among the top three.”

“We are now proving to be a great team. Let’s carry on like this. Inter won again, but we are still four points behind them.

“There are still many games left to play and it’s up to us to keep pressure on the Nerazzurri.”

Milan travel to third-placed Roma this weekend without Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato, who has joined Antonini in the treatment room.

“Pato is a great player and let’s hope he comes back soon,” said Antonini.

“But we are as calm as ever and are playing well, so we can get a positive result at Roma.”
