According to reports in Spain, AC Milan are ready to swoop for Almeria’s Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs around Europe this season and Spanish daily AS now report that the Rossoneri are the current front-runners for the custodian’s signature.

The young ‘keeper is said to be available for around €14 million but Milan will face competition from the likes of Real Madrid and possibly Liverpool, as both clubs have expressed an interest in Alves this season.

The former Atletico Mineiro man is seen by Milan coach Leonardo as the ideal replacement for Dida, who is fast approaching 37 and reports suggest that the Rossoneri's Brazilian contingent could play a big role in persuading Alves to join the club.
