Antonio Cassano Is Not My Heir - Italy Legend Roberto Baggio
Roberto Baggio feels Antonio Cassano is different to him as a player for Italy.
By Salvatore Landolina
Cassano has seized his opportunity to gain a stronghold in Cesare Prandelli's side following special performances against Estonia and the Faroe Islands in Euro 2012 qualification. He scored in both matches and chipped in with plenty of assists, evoking comparisons with Baggio.
But the legend doesn't feel it's right to compare him with Cassano.
"Is he my heir? Cassano is Cassano. We should take it slow with heaping too much responsibility on him," Baggio told the press.
"Every player has their own characteristics."
Baggio was at the Artemio Franchi to see Italy thrash the Faroes 5-0 on the night.
"It was nice to feel the applause for myself and the national team in Florence," he said.
