Juventus hope to reach formal agreement for Rhodolfo by end of October - report
The Turin side's interest in the Brazilian defender will soon come to a conclusion as general manager Giuseppe Marotta sets deadline for Sao Paulo decision
Juventus hope to have sealed a deal to sign Sao Paulo centre-back Rhodolfo by the end of October, Tuttosport reports.
Whilst a transfer cannot be concluded until January, Juventus' general manager Giuseppe Marotta wants the deal to be formally agreed sooner to repel the interest of rival clubs
The Turin giants have been tracking the Brazilian defender since the summer, and hope to conclude a deal worth €8.5 million. However, his current employers are believed to be unwilling to accept that offer as Juventus were initially thought to be willing to spend between €10 million and €12 million to acquire his services.
Sao Paulo currently own just 30 per cent of Rhodolfo's rights - with the other 70 per cent belonging to private investors - but have a sufficient enough share to dictate the player's future transfers. According to Tuttosport, this has enhanced the player's value, meaning significant negotiations will need to take place before a deal can be concluded.
Rhodolfo would find himself fighting for a place at the heart of Juventus' defence alongside Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci.
