Spalletti admits Zenit St Petersburg are keen on Inter star Sneijder
The Italian coach has revealed that he is interested in bringing the former Real Madrid star to Russia, but realises it won't be easy to convince the Nerazzurri to sell
By Stefan Coerts
The Italian trainer is eager to add a high profile name to his squad before the Russian transfer window shuts later this month, and has revealed that the attacking midfielder would be an ideal addition to the Zenit squad.
Nevertheless, Spalletti realises that it will be difficult to prise the former Real Madrid star away from the Nerazzurri.
"Who would not welcome a player like Sneijder? However, when we are talking about a player of his calibre, things become much more difficult," Spalletti was quoted as saying by Itasportpress.
"He is wanted by many top clubs, and he has an ongoing contract with Inter. I do not think they are willing to sell him at this point."
The 27-year-old midfielder has an agreement with the 2010 Champions League winners until the summer of 2015. He recently admitted that he is uncertain about his future amidst continual links with Manchester United.
