Dejan Stankovic says Inter's fans have the right to voice their unhappiness with the club's poor run of form.

Inter could move down to sixth in the Serie A standings in case Roma defeat Siena on Monday after suffering a shock 1-0 defeat to bottom-placed Novara at San Siro on Sunday.

"It is normal that there are some whistles," Stankovic told Sky Sport Italia. "But we are hopeful that we will pick ourselves up.

"We created chances and we were a bit unlucky, but that is no excuse: we must react and recover, especially from a mental point of view."

The 33-year-old was given the nod to start against Novara in what was his first appearance since December because of an injury.

"I had a good return, but we can talk about two different things: my return and the match," Stankovid noted.

"I have no words, I am very disappointed, we conceded a goal for which I have to congratulate [Andrea] Caracciolo."
