Manchester City Bid €10 Million For Parma Midfielder McDonald Mariga - Report
The Citizens are on the verge of signing Mariga...
By Salvatore Landolina
Mariga had been linked with Italian champions Inter. But the Corriere report claims Ducali sporting director Pietro Leonardi met with City on Thursday.
He was able to convince the English club over 22-year-old Mariga's €10m fee during a series of talks which untangled the move.
Parma are now looking for an alternative midfielder to fill the void left by Mariga. Udinese star Gaetano D'Agostino has been tipped as the favourite to join the Emiliani.
The Friulani enjoy a good relationship with Parma, with talks regarding the Italy midfielder expected to take place before the transfer window deadline on Monday.
The Italians are also in the process of making Luis Jimenez's move from Inter official after all parties agreed to a loan deal until the end of the season.
"We hope to have him [Jimenez] by Monday," said Leonardi.
