Valencia Confirm Manuel Fernandes' Inter Move Is Off

La Liga giants Valencia have confirmed that midfielder Manuel Fernandes’ proposed move to Serie A side Inter has fallen through, and that the player has returned to the Mestalla.
The Portuguese international had spent two days in the city of Milan undergoing a stringent medical in an effort to secure a six-month loan deal. However, Fernandes did not pass the examinations of the club doctors with the Nerazzuri.
Reports from Spain state that Valencia director Fernando Gomez said of the deal, “I can confirm that Manuel Fernandes did not pass the medical. I do not know what will happen in the future.
“He will return today or tomorrow, and we will talk about the best option for his career.”
The real reason the deal was cancelled however is shrouded in mystery. Fernandes is thought to have suffered inflammation of the knee ligaments, but Los Che club doctor Jorge Candel denied that Fernandes was injured.
He added, “He [Fernandes] is in perfect physical condition and is medically fit to play football at the highest level. There is no medical reason to declare he is not fit.”
Sporting Lisbon and Everton, where Fernandes has had spells on loan previously, are believed to re-ignite their interest now that the Inter deal has collapsed.
