McDonald Mariga has joined Inter after the Serie A champions made a last-dash move for him following their failure to land Cristian Ledesma from Lazio.

Two failed deals have proved fruitful for the Nerazzurri. Mariga was set to join Manchester City, but that deal failed after he was refused a work permit from the UK government.

Ledesma to Inter also failed, albeit for different reasons. Aquile president Claudio Lotito would not budge on his €15 million demands, with the Nerazzurri pulling out.

Both failures left the door open for Inter to swoop and they have come out with Mariga in the bag. Sky Sport Italia say he will arrive as part of a €2.5m deal.

The Nerazzurri will acquire half of Mariga's rights, and they will give Parma 50 per cent of Jonathan Biabiany's contract. The French striker is currently on a season-long loan at the Ennio Tardini.

That remains unconfirmed, but an official announcement is expected later.
