Martin Caceres is set to remain a Juventus player as the club plan talks with Barcelona to discuss a permanent deal.

Tuttosport reports directors Roberto Bettega and Alessio Secco will fly to Spain for discussions with Barcelona president Joan Laporta so they can use their right to buy Caceres.

He was signed last summer on a loan deal which gave the club the option to make the move a long-term one. Negotiations appear tough as the Spanish want no less than €13 million, whereas Juve are only willing to offer them half that amount.

Caceres wants to remain as he is not seen as a regular part of Pep Guardiola's plans at Camp Nou, with Bettega using this as a reason to bargain.
