Fulham have poured cold water on reports claiming that goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer handed in a transfer request to make a move to Arsenal.

The Australian has been heavily linked with a move to north London, with the Gunners having reportedly offered him a player-coach role at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, new Cottagers boss manager Mark Hughes had previously maintained that he would like to keep all his important players, including Schwarzer, at the club.

A spokeswoman for the club said: "The club has not received a transfer request from Mark Schwarzer.

"Mark is under contract with us until the summer of 2011 and the manager has underlined his commitment to keep hold of his best players."
