Brazilian justice orders Internacional's Oscar to return to Sao Paulo
The Brazilian youngster will have to return to the Morumbi after he lost the legal battle with the club, but he may still lodge an appeal to the Higher Labour Court
By Luis Mira
The 20-year-old rescinded his contract with Sao Paulo in the summer of 2010 over unpaid wages, which allowed him to sign for Internacional on a free transfer.
However, the Labour Court of Sao Paulo has ruled in favour of the Morumbi club, which means that the player is forced to return to his previous club
Moreover, the period which Oscar spent at Internacional will be added to his previous contract with Sao Paulo, which now expires in 2015.
The Brazil international must now appeal to the Higher Labour Court in Brasilia. If he loses the case, he will have to pay Sao Paulo almost €4 million in compensation.
"The contract between Internacional and Oscar will not be turned to dust and everyone will forget that he was at the club," Oscar's attorney Andre Ribeiro told Lancenet.
"But he will not be without playing."
