Carlo Ancelotti: Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez’s wage demands are likely to prevent a switch to Paris Saint-Germain

The Argentine has been in exile at Eastlands since September, and whilst a move to the French capital has been touted, the Italian insists his pay demands remain a stumbling block

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti says Carlos Tevez’s wage demands may be an obstacle to signing the striker from Manchester City.

The 27-year-old remains at Eastlands despite transfer window interest from PSG, Inter and AC Milan, having not made a first-team appearance since September.

"We spoke with his agent - we wanted to have him - but we couldn't reach an agreement," Ancelotti told BBC Sport.

"I don't think he'll change his idea about how much he wants to earn.”

City boss Roberto Mancini recently suggested the Argentine could feature again after naming him in his 25-man squad for the remainder of the season, despite having previously maintained that he was ‘finished’ at the club.

Ancelotti hinted he would consider another move at the end of the season, adding: “Now we wait and in the summer transfer window we will have more possibilities.”

Tevez has been in dispute with City since he was alleged to have refused to appear as a substitute against Bayern Munich in a Champions League group game in September.

It is understood he has not received his estimated £200,000 weekly salary since the end of November.

He is currently in Argentina, and recently returned to his former club Boca Juniors to attend striker Martin Palermo’s farewell match.
