Tottenham's reasons to keep me are unconvincing, says Dos Santos
The Mexico international forward insists that he is "not convinced" by the explanations that he has been given when asking about a transfer away from White Hart Lane
Giovani dos Santos has claimed that Tottenham's reasons to keep him at the club are "unconvincing" and insists that he is intending to secure a move away from White Hart Lane this summer.
The Mexico international has struggled to cement a regular first-team place following his arrival from Barcelona in 2008 and made just 13 appearances in all competitions for Harry Redknapp's side last season.
The 23-year-old was set for a move to Spanish side Villarreal, but the deal fell through due to the club's relegation from La Liga this month, according to the midfielder's lawyer.
"[Tottenham] have given me answers but none convince me," Dos Santos told reporters when asked why Spurs have refused to sell him. "Because, at the end of the day, they haven't given me minutes on the pitch. I respect the club and my contract, but my intention is to leave."
"There are options from several places, I'm not going to close any doors, but the idea is to remain in Europe."
The attacker has been heavily linked with a switch to MLS but the midfielder revealed that that is not an option this summer.
"It's not that I see it as a bad option, I simply think I've been formed in Europe for years and want to remain there," he said.
