Barcelona’s Dani Alves is reportedly ready to sign a long-term contract extension at the club, but wants his wages to match those offered by English Premier League outfits.

According to reports in Spanish daily Sport, the Brazilian hopes to retire at the Camp Nou but wants to see his wages match those on offer to him elsewhere.

Barca bought the Brazilian from Sevilla for a fee reported to be around €30 million in the summer of 2008, and the right-back quickly became regarded as one of the best full-backs in world football and his name reportedly appears on a number of top European clubs' wishlists.

Alves’ current contract with the Blaugrana runs until June 2012 and director of football Txiki Begiristain is reportedly well aware that the former Sevilla man is desperate for the extension that will bring a significant wage increase.

His current contract is said to be worth around €3.5 million plus bonuses, however the Brazilian is seemingly aware that clubs such as Manchester City or Chelsea would be willing to double his current wage packet in order to entice the 26-year-old to England.
