Almeria's Diego Alves Billed To Replace Real Madrid's Jerzy Dudek At End Of Season
Diego Alves is on Los Blancos' radar to serve as Iker Casillas' understudy...
By Cyrus C. Malek
Alves is viewed as the ideal replacement, and the player of the future for the Spanish giants when Iker Casillas finally chooses to retire. Alves is young, has a wide array of experience and frequently pulls out heart-stopping saves to keep his side in matches.
Potential glitches on a deal stem from the fact that Alves' contract is up in 2012 with his rescision clause being somewhere in the €15 million range, while Los Blancos would be hard-pressed to pay more than €5 million for a reserve keeper.
