Barcelona Vice-President Alfons Godall: Cesc Fabregas Signing Depends A Lot On Joan Laporta
The leading candidate in the race for the Barca presidency handed the responsibility of signing the Arsenal star to the Blaugrana's current leadership...
By Cyrus C. Malek
"His signing will depend a lot on Joan Laporta. He will be president until June 30 and I would say that a number of decisions will be made about Cesc's signing before a change in leadership," said the VP in comments reported by AS.
Godall, did however reiterate his certainty that sooner or later, the midfield maestro would end up at Barca "where he was formed".
As for his candidacy in the future club elections, Godall revealed that he would not rule out forming a team with ex-Barcelona VP of Economics, Ferran Soriano. The former Barca executive has not yet made his intention to run public, but signs seem to indicate that he will be one of the names on the ballot.
Godall believes that running with Soriano would be a positive move instead of considering him as an adversary and finished by denying that he was "Laporta's candidate", but instead wished to be referred to as the "candidate of the future".
