Sevilla Boss Manolo Jimenez Content With Three Points Versus Osasuna
The tactician was more happy with the win than the performance...
By Paul Macdonald
Sevilla clinched the victory in what was a poor match thanks a superb Luis Fabiano header from a Diego Capel cross, and Osasuna had no answer, ensuring the Rojiblancos clinched the victory.
Jimenez's side were heavily criticised for their performance against Getafe in the Copa del Rey in midweek, and he told journalists after this match that he was pleased with the win.
He stated,"We have a lot to improve as we look to achieve a higher level. We know the difficulties we have. We are playing in three big competitions and we are being forced to learn every day.
“We made a game of good control, and high intensity, we and we played well without creating the chances we would have liked.”
In addition, Jimenez stated that with Copa del Rey duties put off until May, where they will face Atletico Madrid, the club’s goal in the league is to overcome Valencia.
He said, “Our real goal is third place. We are currently four points behind Valencia, and at this time last year we had one point less and were already eliminated from the Copa del Rey and the UEFA cup.”
