Barcelona maintained their league at the top of the table with a win over Malaga, and club president Joan Laporta enjoyed watching the match from the stands.

Speaking to Sport after the game, Laporta said, "It was a tense game to watch."

"It was a great game, with a lot of exciting play and chances. We played against a great team, that made things difficult.

"It was tense until the end, so I congratulate the players who demonstrated their spirit.

"In the end, as always, Barca showed its credentials."

Laporta than analyzed the game in further detail, continuing, "In the first half we played very well, but didn't score."

"The second half started well with Pedro's goal, in his 50th game. We still have the League in our hands.

"We know that we will have to suffer, but we are leaders thanks to the effort we put in every game. It was important to win to continue maintaining the difference.

"La Liga is very competitive, and we will not relax."
