Player Ratings: Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla
Los Merengues completed an incredible comeback to beat los Nervionenses in the Santiago Bernabeu to go top of the table. Goal.com looks at the individual performances...
By Anthony Wright
Casillas: 5 - He was found completely flat-footed for Dragutinovic's goal as he failed to react until it was far too late. Absolute howler from a usually reliable keeper.
Sergio Ramos: 8 - He got forward brilliantly as he put in some dangerous crosses, including that which led to the final goal, as well as scoring the equaliser with a fine header.
Albiol: 6.5 - Covered for Ramos' attacking exploits ably and contained the threat of Perotti well, while he also threatened at set pieces.
Garay: 6.5 - Did what he had to in defence as he kept both Negredo and Kanoute quiet, but Sevilla's attacking threat was generally negligable.
Arbeloa: 6.5 - Competent performance at left back from the former Liverpool man, but his deployment allowed Marcelo to play further up the field.
Lass: 5.5 - Defensively sound but provided nothing in the final third, and had to be taken off for a more creative player after Real Madrid went 2-0 down.
Xabi Alonso: 6 - While he scored an own goal, it was difficult to do anything else with Negredo over his shoulder and he reacted well as he anchored los Blancos' midfield.
Marcelo: 8 - He provided a great attacking outlet on the left hand side, and even when he was shifted to left back he got forward and supplied the ball for Real Madrid's first goal.
Kaka: 6 - Poor game by his standards. He had an excellent chance just before the hour to get a goal back for the hosts but hit a tame shot at Palop, and was withdrawn with 15 minutes remaining.
Cristiano Ronaldo: 9 - He pounced on a loose ball in the box to halve the deficit and give los Blancos hope of a remarkable comeback. He was Real Madrid's main threat throughout and always looked to create chances and was more unselfish than usual - fantastic performance.
Higuain: 7 - He was not short of opportunities to get on the scoresheet, but he was uncharacteristically wasteful in front of goal. Unlucky to see two efforts come back off the woodwork.
Substitutes:
Van der Vaart: 8 - Really made a difference after coming on, as his set pieces never disappointed while he was also in the right place at the right time to poke home the injury time winner.
Guti: 7.5 - Like van der Vaart, he was critical in swinging the game back in Real Madrid's favour. Saw one effort crash off the crossbar, although the subsequent corner led to the equaliser, while he was instrumental in the hosts' midfield play.
Raul: 6.5 - Came on for the last 15 minutes and would have tapped in the winner if van der Vaart hadn't been stood just in front of him.
SEVILLA
Palop: 8.5 - A high rating to give a keeper who conceded three times, but he could do nothing about any of the goals while he also made five or six superb saves to keep his side in the game as he threatened to defy Real Madrid yet again.
Konko: N/A - Only had 20 minutes on the pitch before he was forced off due to another injury.
Stankevicius: 5.5 - Played out of position at centre back, and it showed this evening. He was frequently turned inside-out by Higuain or Marcelo, who passed him easily on the edge of the box.
Dragutinovic: 7 - Scored with a bizarre free kick that no one seemed to want to get on the end of - including Casillas - but he did his level best to stop los Merengues from creating chances.
Navarro: 6.5 - Defended well at set pieces, winning a number of headers, but he struggled to deal with the rampaging Sergio Ramos who often had a lot of space to put in a cross.
Fazio: 6 - Typically strong player but his concentration can be poor and it cost his team when he let Sergio Ramos get away from him at a corner to score the equaliser
Zokora: 6.5 - Efficient performance from the former Tottenham Hotpur midfielder, who contained Real Madrid in the first half but was overwhelmed by the frequency of the hosts' attacks as the game went on.
Navas: 6.5 - Very dangerous on the right hand side and his final ball was impressive during the first half, but practically disappeared from the game in the second half.
Perotti: 5.5 - Far more impressive in the match at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Lacked conviction when he ran at Sergio Ramos or Raul Albiol with the ball and there was little end product.
Capel: 7 - He gave Sergio Ramos a lot of problems during the first half and supplied the ball that resulted in the own goal, but he was taken off at half time.
Negredo: 5 - He was completely starved of anything to go on in the penalty area and had no effect whatsoever. Replaced in the 75th minute.
Substitutes:
Adriano: 5.5 - Not a comfortable evening at all for the versatile Brazilian as he had to deal with numerous threats on the right hand side, and he failed to deal adequately with any of them.
Kanoute: 5 - Started off playing behind Negredo and then operated at the head of the Sevilla attack, but he was ineffective wherever he played in the second half.
Duscher: 6 - Replaced Negredo as Manolo Jimenez looked to halt Real Madrid's countless attacks, but there was little let up in the final quarter of an hour.
