Gabriel Milito Still Confident That Barcelona Will Win La Liga

Despite losing their lead in La Liga this past weekend after drawing against Almeria and seeing Madrid beat Sevilla, Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito has stated his team's belief that they will eventually be crowned league champions.
"We continue to believe that it is possible for us to win La Liga and it is normal that they [Real Madrid] would also believe it," he said, according to Sport. The race will be very close until the end, but we believe the title will be ours and we continue with that mentality."
Milito insisted that even with Barca's recent results, the team continues to be a "great squad" and that the fans should remain calm about the future of the Blaugrana season.
"The people know the potential this team has. We are entering into a decisive phase of the season and we continue trying to earn full points. Losing the Liga lead doesn't worry us too much right now. Matches are not won easily. Perhaps we were accustomed to something else, but the reality is that they are not easy and our rivals know us better."
Milito also showed his support for coach Pep Guardiola who is "the same as always" after his expulsion in the Almeria match and that both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thierry Henry would return to good form.
"We are very confident in ourselves, both in the group and in each individual. Every streak ends, whether it be good or bad."
Questioned about the controversial refereeing that has become a talking point this season in the media, Milito was short and to the point.
"We need to end this talk sooner rather than later, for the good of everyone involved. We do not need to put pressure on the referees and we should instead be talking about the good work done by Barca and Real Madrid. It means nothing to speak of these things. I believe there are more important things for everyone. It would be good to speak about football," he concluded.
