Andoni Zubizarreta confident Pep Guardiola will sign new Barcelona deal
The Catalan club's chief said there are strong indications that the Spanish coach will sign a new deal and stressed he is not thinking about new choices for the Camp Nou hot-seat
By Luis Mira
The 41-year-old coach's current deal expires at the end of the season and he has been very cryptic about whether he will be putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Gerard Pique stated on Thursday that Guardiola was 'more motivated' than when he took over at Barca, and Zubizarreta is hopeful the coach will commit his future to the club.
"He knows he has the possibility to renew on the table, I am not looking at my phone every 10 minutes," Zubizarreta told Rac1.
"Pep knows himself, he knows the dressing room and the club and he knows what is good for Barca.
"Every sign is favorable about his renewal, I do not have a list of potential replacements for him."
Guardiola has guided Barca to 13 trophies, including three Primera Division titles and two Champions League crowns, since assuming the reins of the club's first team in 2008.
